Prior to Permanent Makeup (PMU) services, it is important to follow guidelines to ensure the best results and minimize any potential risk.
- Avoid chemical peels or microdermabrasion for four weeks prior to service and avoid two weeks after service.
- NO anti-aging products or skin thinners, such as AHA, BHA, vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliates, etc. on or around the area for two weeks prior, as well as, two weeks after service.
- NO Botox or fillers two weeks prior, as well as, two weeks after.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine the day of the appointment.
- Stop taking aspirin, ibuprofen, niacin, and blood thinners 48 hours before service, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results.
- If antibiotics are prescribed at time of service, then client must reschedule due to rejection of the pigment.
- Must not be breast feeding. It is recommended to wait eight weeks to allow time for hormonal rebalance.
- No tattooing over blemish, sores, moles or sunburn on or around the area.
Aftercare is crucial for proper healing and color retention following PMU services. It is important to follow aftercare for the full 10 day healing period to ensure the best results. Keep in mind that individual results may vary, and there is no guarantee of specific outcomes.
- Gently massage the treatment area using your clean fingertips with provided cleanser in the morning and at night for 7 - 10, or until the flaking has stopped. This will help promote proper healing and ensure the best results from your permanent makeup.
- Blot completely dry with a clean soft towel after washing. Allow no water to collect or sit on treatment area.
- Apply a sprinkle amount of provided ointment to treatment area morning and night after washing. Apply using clean finger tips. Do not use q-tips.
- For oil skin types, it may be recommended to avoid using ointment altogether and allow for a seven-to-ten-day dry healing process. This approach can help prevent excessive oil build up and promote proper healing of the PMU.
